The Punjab School Education Department has distributed free textbooks to students from grade 1 to matriculation in all government schools of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, and other districts during the Eid holidays. This move comes after the department abolished Urdu medium from government schools.
The textbooks were distributed to ensure that all students have access to learning materials regardless of their financial circumstances. The distribution of free textbooks is expected to benefit a large number of students in the region and promote education in English-medium schools.
Moreover, an additional 10% of textbooks have been dispatched to all 36 districts in Punjab. These books are specifically intended for students who have recently enrolled in schools. However, it is noteworthy that all of these newly distributed textbooks are solely in the English language.
These textbooks have been distributed to all students who were unable to obtain free textbooks prior to Eid.
