Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh finally broke the silence over allegations of assault and kidnapping after an event company owner filed a complaint against him with the Mumbai Police. Denying all “fake and baseless” accusations levelled against him, the rapper threatened to take legal action and file a defamation case against the person who blamed him.

On Thursday, Singh took to his Instagram Story to comment on the matter. “The complaint and the allegations are false and baseless. There is no connection or agreement between my company or the complainant which the media is showing since morning,” he stated.

The rapper further explained that the allegations are “an attempt to tarnish” his image. “I was engaged for the Mumbai Show through a company named Tribevibe which is a reputed company and a sister concern of Bookmyshow. I did my performance for whatever time the permission was there for. Rest all such allegations are false and an attempt to tarnish my image,” he said.

“My legal team is already working to file a defamation case against such miscreants,” he concluded. Singh being Singh also added a one-liner in his caption. "You just keep rocking bro, don’t worry about allegations,"
he said, throwing in a lion emoji for good measure.

The police are currently investigating the matter based on the written complaint filed by the event organiser, Vivek Raman, who claimed that Honey Singh and his associates held him hostage and assaulted him at a hotel in Mumbai. The incident allegedly took place after an event was cancelled due to payment errors.

According to the police complaint lodged on April 19, the complainant, Vivek Raman, had organised a programme for the singer at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai on April 15. Due to errors in the money transaction, the event had to be cancelled.

The complainant alleged that the cancellation of the event miffed Singh and his associates, who later abducted him, held him hostage at a hotel in Mumbai and assaulted him. He had demanded that a case be registered against Singh, and the singer and his associates be arrested, police had said.
