Ali Noor 'vehemently' denies all accusations of harassment, sends legal notice to Maha Ali Kazmi

Noori frontman asks Kazmi to apologise, or face damages worth Rs65 million as part of defamation proceedings

Veteran artist Ali Noor, in response to singer Maha Ali Kazmi's professional misconduct allegations, has sent a legal notice to the latter. The Noori frontman took to social media and addressed the accusations, vehemently denying of any wrongdoings.

According to the court notice, Noor "absolutely refutes and vehemently denies all the so-called allegations of harassment" raised by Kazmi. The court notice further said that the accuser has raised "serious, false and baseless allegations against Noor with respect to an alleged incident of harassment while hurling abuses" at him.

The document went on to add that due to the aforementioned accusations levelled by Kazmi, Noor suffers "irreparable loss to his reputation, trade and torturous mental agony as a consequence of your false allegations tantamounting to deliberate defamation."

Noor's legal team directs Kazmi to withdraw all the "false allegations of so-called harassment and tender an apology to our client within three days of receiving this notice." If Kazmi doesn't apologise or withdraws her accusations, Noor will initiate civil proceedings for defamation and will claim damages worth Rs65 million.

Kazmi, while interacting with fans on her IG Stories earlier this week, opened up about her experience with professional misconduct and workplace harassment in the Pakistani music industry. While doing so, she accused the Noor of “harassment and professional misconduct” amid a Coke Studio audition. She also called him out for “sabotage”.

She, in her statement, claimed that Noor reached out to her through a Coke Studio employee, expressing the desire to meet up with her for an audition for Coke Studio (CS) Season 9, which commenced airing in August 2016.
