Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has emphasised that Karachi cannot afford to be marginalised under any project, as the city is critical to the nation's overall progress.
Speaking to the media representatives after the party's annual aid programme, Siddiqui said, "All classes and nationalities should be given equal consideration and opportunities to thrive. Whenever the party gets a chance, an educational emergency will be declared, and education will be made accessible to all," he maintained.
Siddiqui cautioned the Sindh government against pushing the city into a major crisis. The price of wheat in Karachi, which is home to over 30 million people, is higher than the prices available in other parts of the country. The gas crisis is also affecting the industry and further impeding economic activity. Therefore, the city's citizens must be empowered to take control of civic institutions to solve public problems.
Senior Deputy Convenors Nasreen Jalil, Dr Farooq Sattar, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Deputy Convenor Anees Qaim Khani, Federal Minister Faisal Sabzwari, members of the coordination committee, MNAs and MPAs, and members of the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) were also present on the occasion.
The MQM-P leader further said that his party is committed to public welfare services for the past 40 years, serving all ethnic groups without any discrimination.
"MQM Pakistan has extended its aid throughout the country, and its only goal in politics is to provide services to the people.
