Robbers kill one more citizen for putting up resistance

The Awami Colony police claimed to have arrested a group of three women involved in stealing mobile phones, cash and valuables from the shoulder bags of women, busy in shopping.

Korangi SSP spokesperson said the suspects were identified with the help of the footage of the CCTCV cameras installed in the market.

Accused women identified as Nazia, Hamida, and Iqra were spotted in the CCTV camera footages obtained from various markets of the area stealing from purses of female shoppers. The victims were so engrossed in shopping that they did not notice that someone had opened their handbag and took out valuables and cash. On Tuesday, Awami Colony police station received a phone call that the wanted shoplifters were present in a market. A police squad rushed to the spot and arrested the suspects.

The accused confessed to stealing mobile phones, cash, and other goods from women's handbags in several markets. They were taken to the Women's Police Station.

Shot dead

One more citizen was shot dead by robbers late on Monday night taking the tally of people killed in mugging incidents to 10 in the fasting month and 41 in the first three-and-a-half months of the year so far. Police said that unidentified suspects barged into a medical store in Korangi's Sector 32A area. The suspects shot dead 33-year-old Yasir for putting up resistance, collected the cash and fled.

Edhi volunteers, who took the body to Jinnah Hospital, said that a single bullet hit in the head of Yasir which proved fatal. The deceased was married and a resident of the same area.

Robbers strike at Iftar

The footage of three suspects robbing shopkeepers having Iftar at Mehboob Cloth Market in Saddar area has gone viral on the social media. The faces of the suspected robbers can be clearly seen in the footage and their relaxed actions show that they have no fear of the law.
