All government and private educational institutions, under the administration of School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh will remain closed on April 18 (tomorrow) on account of Shab-e-Qadar (Night of Power).
The provincial government made the announcement in a notification on Monday, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune.
Laylatul Qadr or 'Night of Power' is considered an important date in Ramazan for Muslims as the Holy Quran is believed to have been revealed on this night.

Earlier, educational institutions across Sindh remained closed on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj. A statement by Sindh Education Secretary Ghulam Akbar Leghari said “in view of Shab-e-Meraj on March 1, all educational institutions in the province be closed”.
The Education Secretary added that approval for annual public holidays is fixed by the Education Department and added that the directive was also given during the recent meeting of the Sindh Steering Committee on Education, according to which all the educational institutions will remain closed on 1st March.
