A five-day anti-polio vaccination campaign was launched in Peshawar on Friday.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zubair inaugurated the vaccination drive as four thousands mobile teams have been formed to administer polio drops to more than 1.3 million children under the age of five.
Talking to journalists on this occasion, Muhammad Zubair said that all out arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Polio campaign have been made as 1.3 million children of Peshawar Division will be administered drops.
He added that in this connection, 4,000 mobile teams have been formed and more than 5,000 police personnel will perform security duties on this occasion.
For security, strict arrangements have been made in consultation with the police department of various districts, commissioner informed.
Most of our police officers were busy with the census which has recently been completed successfully, he noted, adding that police officers will perform their duties to protect the polio teams during the campaign and local residents should also cooperate with the administration.
