NDMA issues advisory amid rain, thunderstorms forecast

Farmers should perform their activities keeping in view the weather forecast

ISLAMABAD:

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a detailed guideline for federal and provincial departments to ensure effective measures to cope with emergencies amid weather forecasts of more rain-dust-thunderstorm in upper, western and central parts of the country.

The NDMA said that as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast of rain-dust-thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms from April 15-20 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad and Sindh, all departments concerned should remain vigilant against possible hazards. Moreover, farmers should perform their activities keeping in view the weather forecast.

The authority in light of the weather forecast has directed all provincial disaster management authorities and agencies to undertake measures as per their respective mandate.
