Two former high-ranking officials belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Zartaj Gul and Usman Buzdar, are facing serious corruption allegations and have been summoned by the Punjab anti-corruption department.
Gul, a former federal minister, is being investigated over allegations of receiving commission in relation to development projects in her constituency.
Meanwhile, Buzdar, the former chief minister of Punjab, is being investigated in a corruption case involving the construction of a 50-kilometre road from Bharti to Khar Buzdar in Taunsa, at a cost of Rs700 million.
According to sources, Gul and her husband, Humayun Akhund, are being investigated for reportedly taking a 10% commission on the allocation of funds for development projects.

Anti-corruption authorities are seeking records of community development programmes and have summoned Gul, Akhund, and public health engineering officials for investigation. The notice of summons is set for April 10.
Meanwhile, Buzdar is alleged to have approved the use of substandard materials in the construction of the road, which subsequently deteriorated.
He is also accused of using government funds to construct a multi-purpose hall at his personal residence, costing millions of rupees.
The former chief minister allegedly received kickbacks worth Rs60 million in relation to the contract for the construction of a cemetery boundary wall.
Additionally, he is accused of supporting the awarding of contracts to his frontman and close relative, Dr Ejaz Leghari.
