KARACHI:

The first day of Ramazan in Karachi saw a welcome change in weather as clouds brought light to heavy rainfall to many parts of the city.

The maximum temperature dropped by four degrees Celsius compared to the previous day from 31 to 27.4, providing much-needed relief from the heat to the residents of the port city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) highest precipitation of 20.5mm was recorded in Surjani Town on Thursday, while other areas that received rainfall included Baldia, Kharadar, Soldier Bazar, Burns Road, DHA, Clifton, Bahadurabad, Saddar, FB Area, Gulshane Iqbal, Gulistane Johar, Surjani, and Gulshane Maymar.

As per PMD 20.5mm was recorded as the highest rainfall in Surjani on Thursday, while Masroor Base got 12mm, Keamari 5.5mm, Jinnah Terminal received 4.6mm and Orangi Town had 4.4mm of rain.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius. As per forecast, the weather for the next three days is expected to be clear and sunny.
