Around 125 emerging female artists from different parts of the province displayed 200 pieces of artwork in a three-day exhibition titled 'Soormiyoo' held at the Sambara Art gallery at Liaquat Memorial Library to celebrate and empower women.
Saher Shah Rizvi, the curator, said, “The purpose of this exhibition is to celebrate the existence of women narratives and pay tribute to the artists who play a pivotal role in influencing society positively and amicably.”
He added, “Sindh has solid roots in the field of art, so the society must appreciate them for their contribution to building a colourful and positive Sindh.”
Rizvi said that when women are empowered, they can claim their rights, own land and have leadership roles, opportunities, choices, and can be financially independent.
Marhooa, an emerging artist who participated in the exhibition, said she focused on portraying women empowerment. People from different walks of life visited the exhibition.
