Actor Yasra Rizvi shocked fans and colleagues after posting an obituary for herself. The note, posted on Instagram, revealed that she not only feels misunderstood by people but is now “exhausted” by the wrong turns in her life. The Churails actor wants people to know “the truth” to avoid any speculations or ambiguity after her death.

“I have passed away. I don’t know when but if anyone who knew me says anything like ‘what a loss,’ don’t believe them because nobody ever truly knew, understood or felt me,” she shared in a note on Instagram on Wednesday.

The actor blamed herself for being “too much” for those around her. “Most people tried and I am grateful for that but I guess I was too much and too difficult to feel and to hold. I also tried to simplify myself and fit in. I apologised repeatedly for being myself but maybe I just never belonged here,” she wrote, referring to the physical world.

“Maybe it was all a mistake. Maybe I was the mistake,” she concluded.

Rizvi said she wrote her own obituary for people who felt her through her artistic work. “I took the liberty of writing my own obituary for those of you who never met me but felt me a little through my art and poetry. You deserve to know the truth so that there is no speculation or ambiguity. No one is responsible for this, it was just years of being at the wrong place at the wrong time and sometimes enough is enough and one gets exhausted by the game,” she wrote.

“So whenever this actually happens, know that there is no one to blame. It is just who and what I was – simply not fit for this world!” she concluded.

Last year, in a podcast, Rizvi opened up about developing depression early in her life after losing her elder brother. “When I was seven years old, my eldest brother died and it was a big tragedy in my life. From that time, my adult life started and I developed depression and all my life I have dealt with it,” she said. “I started taking my health and mental health seriously, but then I lost my youngest brother six years ago.”

However, after her film SentiAurMental got shelved last year, she was all about making efforts to better connect with oneself every day and not letting inevitable setbacks stop anyone from living their best lives.

"I still get up, dress up (okay I wear clothes) and show up trying to do ME every day. What's better than becoming more YOU in the process?" the Churails actor said that her "broken and defeated" self is her biggest asset because that's what drives her the most to keep thriving at her own pace.
