Stabbed body of elderly man found in flat

KARACHI:

The stabbed body of an elderly man was found in an apartment in Five Star Complex, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 2, on Friday.

The man, identified as 60-year-old Azizullah Khan, was apparently stabbed to death with a sharp-edged weapon. Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Complex for post-mortem.

“The deceased lived with his wife in Qatar. He returned to Karachi after retiring a year ago,” the SHO of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station said. “Later the couple went to Oman to stay with their son.”

The SHO added that Azizullah recently returned to Karachi alone and stayed at his daughter’s house for a few days. Later on, he moved to the apartment where his body was found on Friday. Azizullah’s daughter tried calling her father in the apartment, but he did not respond. The daughter got alarmed and came along with her husband to check on her father, the SHO said. As soon as she opened the door of the apartment, she saw clotted blood on the floor of a bedroom. She immediately reported it to police on Madadgar 15 helpline.

Police have registered a case and started investigation.
