Judiciary, establishment should stay neutral: JI

Siraj wants caretakers in Centre, Sindh and Balochistan also

Amir Jammat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has said that judiciary and establishment should stay neutral under all circumstances.

Addressing a long march for the rights of tribesmen in Bajaur district, he said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced elections in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Punjab and his party would take part in these elections.

“We appeal to election commission and judiciary to stay neutral,” he said.

“The government has said that Rs72 billion funds are required for elections in Punjab and K-P. Holding elections in phases is just a waste of public money in times of financial crisis,” he said, adding that there should be a caretaker government in the centre as well as Sindh and Balochistan too and polls should be held in a free and fair manner.

“The establishment creates conflicts and then different factions begin to fight,” he said, adding that this could not be tolerated anymore.

It may be mentioned here that JI has announced it will hold protests, rallies and long marches for the rights of tribal districts from March 15. In this regard the first rally was held in Bajaur on Wednesday.

The JI will hold rallies in all tribal districts one by one.
