Two killed, 37 injured as van plunges into ravine

Condition of seven injured stated to be critical

Two persons, including a four-month-old child, died while 37 others were injured when a passenger van travelling to Rawalpindi from Bagh, Azad Kashmir plunged into a ditch near the Milad Cowk area of Kotli Satian police station.

Sources said the condition of seven of the injured is said to be critical.

According to Police and Rescue 1122 officials, the van full of passengers was coming to Rawalpindi from Azad Kashmir when on the way its brakes malfunctioned and the van driver lost control over the vehicle before it fell into the ravine on the side of the road near Milad Chowk.

DSP Kotli Satian Sardar Babar Mumtaz, SHO Kotli Satian Inspector Basharat Abbasi and Rescue 1122 team arrived on the spot upon receiving the information about the accident.

The rescue personnel shifted the injured to Rawalpindi and nearby hospitals.

The SHO Koti Sattian said that all the dead and injured people belong to Bagh, Azad Kashmir
