PESHAWAR:

Awami National Party (ANP) Provincial President Aimal Wali Khan on Monday said that Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) was a plan to destroy Peshawar's prosperity, business and international highway.

“This ‘Tabdeeli’ government’s plan is nothing but a huge burden on the exchequer,” he added, saying that this brilliant project underwent 21 changes even after the approval of PC-I.

According to the party’s headquarter Bacha Khan Markaz, the ANP leader said: “We have been calling this project a ‘white elephant’ since day one, which was started in haste and without planning.”

“Bank of West Indies guarantee checks were accepted for the same project; the chief executive of this project – involved in mega corruption – has already fled abroad,” he pointed out.

Aimal Wali demanded the culprits to be “identified and exposed” in light of the FIA report compiled on the order of Peshawar High Court.
