Exiled leaders, militants urged to hold talks
Speakers at a seminar held at Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology here on Saturday stressed on Baloch self-exiled leaders and militants to lay down arms and come to the negotiating table.
The seminar organized by the university was titled “Prospering Balochistan with Reconciliation”.
The speakers highlighted the steps taken by the provincial government for prosperity and development of Balochistan province.
The participants included member provincial assembly Younis Aziz Zehri, Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar Maj (R) Ilyas Kibzai and Dr Jalal Hussain Shah, Registrar Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology.
Faculty members of the university, notables and members of civil society attended the event.
They said that reconciliation and addressing the problems faced by locals was the need of the hour and the state should also show its willingness to address the grievances of the local population.
“The self-exiled leaders of Balochistan should also return and they should solve all the problems through negotiations,” they said, adding that the militants should also lay down their arms and put forward their concern so that these could be solved through table talks by the government.
They said that development of the backward areas of the province was also the need of the hour.
