Rashakai Special Economic Zone (RSEZ) is a game-changer project for the economic growth of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) in particular and Pakistan in general.
K-P Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) CEO Javed Iqbal Khattak said that because of RSEZ, industrialisation is gaining momentum in the province and investors are becoming attracted to the project.
The company has established nine other zones too, but the RSEZ has special importance and significance due to its location and the facilities it provides.
Talking about the second phase of the zone, the CEO said that big companies from China, such as Century steel mills and electric vehicle plants, have started establishing industrial units in the zone.
“The RSEZ is being established following the state-of-art Chinese model of establishing industrial zones, which contains all facilities in one place. The master plan of the RSEZ includes a hospital, a three-star hotel and petrol pumps.
“Chinese industries and plants will not only create economic activities, but will also provide huge job opportunities, which will help minimising unemployment in the country,” said Khattak.
“China is taking a keen interest in shifting its technology to Pakistan. This will provide local industrialists to learn from its technical knowledge as well as understand their point of view with regards to investment,” he noted.
