Shab-e-Barat observed with fervour

KARACHI:

Like the rest of the country, Shab-e-Barat was celebrated with traditional devotion across Sindh, including Karachi.

Large and small mosques particularly the Faizan-e-Madina, Memon Masjid of Bolton Market, New-Memon Masjid, Kunral Iman Masjid and other mosques in Karachi, besides shrines of Sufi Saints were decorated with colourfull lights and buntings.

Following the tradition, people went to graveyards to offer prayers at the graves of their loved ones. Flower merchants and seasonal vendors made quick silver by hiking the prices of rose petals.

The rush of people caused traffic jams near all graveyards of the city.

Sindh police chief had directed his force to ensure excellent security and traffic plan on the eve of Shab-e-Barat.
