Over $20,000 stolen from cricketer M Hafeez’s house

Burglars break into house of Mohammad Hafeez in Lahore, loot over Rs7m in foreign currency and other valuables

Burglars broke into the residence of renowned Pakistani cricketer Mohammed Hafeez in Lahore, looting over Rs7 million in US dollars, euros, and other foreign currency from the former Pakistan captain's house, police said on Tuesday.

Police said the burglary incident took place in Lahore's Defence Phase 4 area at the popular cricketer's residence where the burglars managed to steal USD $20,000, 4,000 euros, and other foreign currency.

The thieves looted other valuables items as well from the batsman's house, police added.

The thieves reportedly cut the iron grills to enter the house through the boundary wall, they said.

Defence police have registered a case against unidentified suspects.
