Minister warns of stern action against quacks

Punjab Caretaker Health Minister Dr Javed Akram has said the government has plans to digitise all provincial hospitals to facilitate the people by improving health facilities.

He added that indiscriminate action was being taken against the quacks in Punjab and that those who extort money from innocent people do not deserve any leniency.

The minister expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Department of Specialised Health Care and Medical Education.

A detailed review was taken of the medical facilities provided to the patients in the government teaching hospitals of Punjab during the meeting.

The minister said the government was committed to providing better health facilities to the people of Punjab.

“Under the leadership of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, we are trying to improve the health facilities for the people.

In cardiology hospitals in the province, credit for providing the facility of primary angioplasty to the patients goes to the caretaker government.” The minister said that the government wanted to digitise all provincial hospitals.

“Chest pain and heart failure clinics will also be established in the government teaching hospitals of Punjab.

Medical experts from all over the world will participate in the three-day international conference will be held by the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine from March 10 to 12.

“We have to make healthy policies to lay the foundation of a healthy society.

In Punjab Institute of Cardiology, we are going to build a state-of-the-art preventive cardiology department.

We will not tolerate negligence in the treatment of patients in any government hospital in the province,” the minister remarked.
