KARACHI:

A golden tabby tiger died at the Karachi Zoological Garden, with officials saying that the 21-year-old feline probably died of natural causes.

One staff member said that the tiger had been ill for several days and negligence and poor diet couldn’t be ruled out as a reason for the death. A post-mortem would determine the exact cause of death.

The Express Tribune contacted several zoo officials but didn’t receive a reply. Meanwhile, KMC Administrator Dr Saifur Rehman instructed officials to submit a report regarding the causes and circumstances leading to the big cat’s death.
