In an alleged target killing, a man and son were shot dead by unidentified assailants on Girja Road in the jurisdiction of Dhamyal police station.
Both the victims had left the house early in the morning for work before they were ambushed and shot dead. Police registered a case and started an investigation.
Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital for a post-mortem. The police said that the victims have been identified as Mohammad Riasat and Khizar Mehmood.
The police said that the initial investigation revealed that the firing had been carried out with a modern weapon.
