Bank of Punjab: Remand extended by 14 days

Khan has been accused of illegally sanctioning loans worth Rs9 billion

LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday extended the judicial remand of Hamesh Khan, Sheikh Afzal and Seth Nisar, accused in the Bank of Punjab scam, for 14 days. The court directed the jail authorities to bring them to court again on September 9. Khan has been accused of illegally sanctioning loans worth Rs9 billion to Haris Steel director Shaikh Afzal and his associates Muhammad Munir, Ali Ijaz, Abid Raza. Seth Nisar has been accused of willfully defaulting on a Rs930 million loan he obtained from the BoP.
