Over 1,200 injured in road crashes

Affected people across province include 267 females

At least seven people died, whereas 1,258 were injured in 1163 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of this 632 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals.

Whereas, 626 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. The majority (71%) involved motorcyles.

Further, the analysis showed that 568 drivers, 51 underage drivers, 164 pedestrians, and 533 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 270 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 283 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 95 in Faisalabad with 97 victims and at third Gujranwala 86 with 83 victims.

The details further reveal that 1265 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 998 males & 267 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 254 were under 18 years of age, 659 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 352 victims were reported above 40 years of age.

According to the data 1036 motorbikes, 91 rickshaws, 127 cars, 29 vans and 15 buses.
