Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has alleged that the caretaker government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) is not run by caretaker chief minister Azam Khan, but by a gang of four, namely the governor and his son, Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother and former chief minister Akram Durrani.
The PTI has demanded that the caretaker government and ministers should confine themselves to their constitutional role instead of playing politics as neither are they elected representatives nor are in power for five years.
PTI’s provincial spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai told a press conference at the party secretariat along with former minister Kamran Bangash, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Arbab Jehandad and others.
He congratulated the party on winning the Rajanpur election and said this was a strong response to the ‘imported government’.
He said that caretaker ministers in the province are making statements as if they have been elected through millions of votes and will remain in government for five years.
The province has already been suffering from dire issues due to the worsening economic situation. Now they have pushed the judiciary into a crisis. “This government has no direction or strategy.”
Lambasting on the cases being filed against the PTI chief, Yousafzai said: “More than 70 fake cases are filed against Imran, who did not go abroad on the pretext of treatment, but he is sitting here and confronting them, because of which they are screaming out.”
The party leaders further said that the country is running out of investments and capital due to which the economy is down in the dumps and inflation is stubbornly high.
They said ten billion dollars have gone out of the country…everyone is worried about the way the caretaker government appoints and transfers officials and the police are being used as if they are a personal force.
Sharing their views about the caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan, they said that Khan has a good work record, so we have no issue on his appointment but he is a hostage.
“Caretaker government is a puppet whose statements are causing concern among the people, the caretaker government should explain itself”.
