I'll never be attracted to a married man: Ayesha rubbishes relationship rumours with Shoaib

Actor addressed how her photoshoot with cricketer was blown out of proportion

Actor and host Ayesha Omar has assured she “will never be attracted to a married man” after being asked about her “connection” with Shoaib Malik, speculations of which have been doing the rounds since the time they partook in a sultry photoshoot, up to the time his and Sania Mirza’s divorce rumours made headlines. She also clarified that her apparently “revealing” photoshoot with Malik “became a controversy in India, not in Pakistan.”

In an interview with former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar on his chat show, Omar addressed being blamed for Mirza and Malik’s alleged breakup, and stated that her 2021 photoshoot was blown out of proportion. Pictures of the two for a magazine were widely circulated online with audacious claims. There were also rumours that Malik will marry Omar, which the Bulbulay star refuted last year.

Now, in response to Akhtar's question about her equation with Malik, Omar has said, "I will never be attracted to a married or committed man, ever. Everyone knows me... that goes without saying." When Akhtar called her photoshoot with Shoaib Malik “very revealing”, Omar asked, "Who said that?" The host then claimed, "It became a big controversy." Ayesha held, "Woh yahan nahi thi, (That was not here) across the border thi."

Rumours of Malik and Mirza's alleged divorce have been circulating since last year. While neither have publicly addressed their relationship status, Omar broke her silence last year over being linked up with Malik. In response to a person's comment on an Instagram post that asked her, "Do you guys’ plan on getting married?" Omar replied "Jee nahin. Bilkul nahi. Un kee shadi hoe we hai aur wo apni biwi kay sath bohut khush hai. Main donon Shoaib Malik or Sania Mirza kee bohat respect kartee hoon (No, absolutely not. He is married and he is happy with his wife. I respect both Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza a lot)."

Mirza and Malik tied the knot in 2010 and have been staying in Dubai ever since. They welcomed their son, Izhaan, back in 2018. According to reports, they allegedly ended their relationship and are co-parenting their little one.
