ISLAMABAD: More than 2,500 personnel of Islamabad police, including security police will guard the city during Eid holidays, according to police sources. The police said over 300 policemen would be deputed for security at Faisal Mosque on Eid day, while security scanners will also be installed. The police will also be stationed in different sectors and will patrol the streets to ensure citizens’ safety during Eid congregations. Police pickets have already been erected at all important entry and exit points for checking vehicles for this purpose, while mobile patrols and squads of Islamabad Traffic Police would remain present at prominent points on Chand Raat. The Bomb Disposal Squad will also remain available on short notice at all public places, while parks and playgrounds will be kept under strict vigilance and security cover, the sources maintained.
