HYDRABAD:

The young Pakistani woman arrested in Bengaluru, India, for illegally entering and staying in India with a fake identity and marrying an Indian man has returned to Pakistan.

Hyderabad based Sohail Jeevani, the father of 18-year-old woman, confirmed that the Border Security Force (BSF), India, on Sunday handed over his daughter to Pakistan Rangers at the Wagah border. He said that they were travelling to Lahore to bring her back.

She had married Mulayum Singh Yadav before the couple was arrested in Bengaluru on January 23. She went missing on September 19, 2022, when she did not return from FG College Hyderabad.

Jeevani registered a kidnapping First Information Report (FIR) at the city police station on the same day, nominating unknown suspects under section 365-B of the Pakistan Penal Code about kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman for a forceful marriage. The family received a call from their daughter 12 days later. She disclosed that she had left the country and married Sameer Ansari, who claimed to be Muslim and a manager in some IT company, but later Bengaluru police revealed that he was Mulayum Singh Yadav a security guard instead.

She had travelled from Karachi to Dubai and from Dubai to Kathmandu, Nepal, before illegally entering India, where she was renamed Rava Yadav. The couple was booked for illegal entry and forging identity documents.
