CTD arrests female suicide bomber in Quetta

Suicide jacket recovered; suspect belongs to BLF

QUETTA:

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), along with other sensitive agencies, arrested an alleged female suicide bomber in the Satellite Town area of Quetta and recovered a suicide jacket.

According to the CTD of Balochistan spokesperson, they acted on a tip-off late on Friday.

The CTD team, along with sensitive agencies, conducted a successful operation in the area near Ladies Park and apprehended an alleged female suicide bomber belonging to the banned organisation, Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).

They also recovered from her handbag a suicide jacket with four to five kilos of explosive material attached to it.

The spokesperson said that the alleged suicide bomber was planning to attack important installations or security forces in Quetta, but this was foiled by the security forces.

The spokesperson reported that the arrested woman had been identified as Mah Pul, wife of Bibarg alias Nadeem.

FIR No 09/2023 U/S 4-5 Exp, 11F(1)(2)(6)-11I-11N-07 ATA was lodged against the suspect at the CTD Police Station in Quetta.

The accused was accordingly produced before a court of law for physical custody.

An investigation was launched to arrest the remaining members of the network. More raids were planned in other areas of Balochistan.
