In a sweet turn of events, Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar found her soulmate while working to make society a more tolerant space for the vulnerable. On Thursday, the Veere De Wedding actor announced her wedding to Fahad Ahmad, a political activist, on social media by sharing a montage of all their special moments together, detailing their love story.

"Sometimes you search far and wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart, Fahad Ahmad. It’s chaotic but it’s yours!" read her caption.

From their first meeting to their adopted cat to loved-up selfies and family meetings, the video documented everything. It even featured a shot of them registering for marriage. According to the video, the two first met at a protest in January 2020.

Bhaskar’s now-fiance retweeted her post and wrote, "I never knew chaos could be so beautiful. Thank you for holding my hand, love.”

Bhaskar and Ahmad registered their marriage on January 6, 2023, in court – exactly three years after they first met.

The duo hosted an engagement lunch for friends and family on Thursday, which also saw Sonam Kapoor in attendance. Bhaskar announced that the wedding is due in March.

On Friday morning, she shared pictures from her engagement where she wore her mother’s sari and jewellery and on a rare instance, made her beau wear “colour” on their big day. Ahmad wore a beige shalwar kurta with a red vest.

The couple registered under the Special Marriage Act. “Three cheers for the #SpecialMarriageAct (despite notice period etc.) At least it exists and gives love a chance. The right to love, the right to choose your life partner, the right to marry, the right to agency these should not be a privilege,” she wrote.

On the work front, Bhaskar will be next seen in Mimamsa, which is touted to be a murder mystery. She also has a women-centric drama, Mrs Falani in the pipeline. Fahad joined the Samajwadi Party in July 2022 and later became President of the Yuvjan Sabha of Maharashtra and Mumbai.
