Burial charges waived for the needy

Graveyards will have facilities such as boundary walls, ablution points

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has abolished the burial charges of Rs10,000 for needy persons in the 'model graveyards'.

He was chairing a meeting to review issues related to the Punjab Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority.

The participants of the meeting agreed to promptly operationalise model graveyards throughout Punjab.

The caretaker chief minister issued orders for the completion of model graveyard projects in Kahna Nau spanning over 825 kanal, Ahlu Kacha Road covering 98 kanal, Raiwind Road expanding to 127 kanal and Sua Asal spanning over 276 kanal in the provincial metropolis.

The graveyards will have facilities such as boundary walls, ablution points and funeral places.

The caretaker CM also ordered a survey, cleaning and the removal of encroachments in all cemeteries of the city.
