KARACHI:

A six-year-old child, Abdul Ghani, lost his life after being shot by a stray bullet while commuting in a high-roof van with his family in Qayyum Abad.

The station house officer (SHO) Korangi Industrial area Aurangzeb Khatak said that the bullet coming from an unknown direction hit the child's arm while breaking the window of the van and killed the child.

The SHO said that after being informed of the incident, the police reached the spot but could not find any evidence of firing at the scene, neither they found any bullet shell.

He said that the dead body of the child has been handed over to the family while an investigation has been started on the incident.

The deceased’s father, Abdul Rauf, told police that his daughter has been under treatment in a private hospital and all the family members had come to see her in a van.
