SIALKOT: The Punjab government will soon establish Pak-Turkish Industrial Zone in Sialkot for promoting mutual trade between the two countries, according to officials.

The provincial government would provide plots for free to Turkish industrialists for establishing their industrial units at the proposed Pak-Turkish Industrial Estate in the export-oriented Sialkot city.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif during his recent visit to Turkey had declared Sialkot and Turkish city of Kesseri as ‘twin industrial cities’ and had announced to establish Pak-Turkish Industrial Zone in Sialkot to increase cooperation in industrial development between Turkey and Pakistan.

Officials disclosed that Sialkot city’s two main roads, Circular Road and Railway Road would also be attributed soon to famous Turkish leaders while Turkish city of Kesseri’s two main roads will be named after Allama Iqbal, the Sialkot-based poet.

Mayor of Kesseri would soon visit Sialkot to see the international standard craftsmanship of the city’s artisans, unique export culture and socio-economic development by local industrialists and exporters.

A delegation of Sialkot’s leading industrialists and exporters would also visit Kesseri to observe their industrial pace and increase trade relations.
