Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has rejected the speculations on social media that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, who is on an official visit to UK, is undertaking an unannounced visit to the United States.

“There have been baseless speculations on social media that COAS is visiting USA. It is categorically stated that COAS is on an official visit to UK from 5th to 10th February in connection with 5th Pakistan-UK Stabilisation Conference,” the chief military spokesperson said in a tweet on Thursday.

The DG ISPR said the conference is a bi-annual event for military to military cooperation between the two countries. “Senior Pakistan military leadership has been participating in the event since 2016,” he added.

Gen Asim arrived in London on Feb 5 (Sunday) on a five-day official visit to attend a conference at Wilton Park to boost bilateral ties between the two countries.

During the visit, the COAS will also meet UK defence officials and the army chief.

The moot is a reportedly a closed event, with only a select group of officials as well as academics are invited.

Atsul | 1 year ago | Reply It s as simple as this.... If accusations are lies then all that Mr. COAS have to do is a simple one minute act which is to appear in a public place in UK and that will end the controversy and destroy the reputation of accusers. Now by not doing that simple act it s clear that the rumors are true.
