32 candidates submit papers for NA-265

Final list of candidates to be released on February 23

QUETTA:

Thirty-two candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the by-election that are going to be held on March 16, in Balochistan national assembly’s seat NA-265 Quetta II.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), former deputy speaker national assembly, Qasim Khan Suri, former speaker Balochistan Assembly, Rahila Hameed Durrani of PML-N, Ali Muhammad Jatak of PPP and Muhammad Jamal of BNP are among those who submitted their papers.

According to the Election Commission, the list of candidates who submitted their nomination papers will be published on Thursday and their papers will be scrutinized by 13th.

Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers by the returning officers can be submitted to the concerned Appellate Tribunal by 16th of this month.

The appeals will be decided by the Appellate Tribunal by February 20.

The revised list of candidates will be released on February 21. Nomination papers can be withdrawn till February 22. On February 23, the final list of candidates will be released and they will be allotted election symbols.
