Bollywood sweethearts, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra have tied the knot in an extravagant affair in Rajasthan. The couple took their 'phere' in Jaisalmer surrounded by their close friends and family.

The couple, clad in Manish Malhotra ensembles, shared first pictures from their big day and looked oh-so in love.  The newlyweds posted pictures with the same caption. "Ab humari permanent booking hogayi hai [We've been booked for life]. We seek your blessings and love on our journey ahead," the Instagram posts read.

Kiara donned a heavily embellished pastel pink and dull gold lehenga choli with fuchsia border details while her Shershaah costar opted for an embroidered gold sherwani.

He coupled his look with a matching dupatta and qula. He also wore a gold mala and we can't get enough of his ring! Kiara, on the other hand, unlike her fellow divas, chose an emerald and diamond set for jewellery. Following the trend of minimal brides, she kept her makeup rather natural and her hair was kempt in a sleek bun.

Many Bollywood A-listers such as Juhi Chawla, and Shahid Kapoor alongside celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar and popular designer, Manish Malhotra had arrived in the city for the much-awaited wedding.

According to Pinkvilla, the couple reached Jaisalmer on Saturday and began a series of intimate but elaborate pre-wedding festivities on Monday, including a sangeet, mehendi and haldi. The publication stated that the functions took place on February 6.

Sidharth and Kiara have also announced a ‘no phone policy’ for the guests, and the hotel staff has been informed about the same. The guests of both bride and groom have been requested not to post any pictures of the wedding on social media, according to reports.

Since it is an intimate destination wedding, the couple has decided to host two receptions after they tie the knot on February 6. The first reception will reportedly take place in Delhi and the second one will be held in Mumbai for the film fraternity.

About Sidharth and Kiara's relationship

Sidharth and Kiara sparked rumours about their courtship after the duo's unmissable chemistry in 2021 offering, Shershaah. The film, which starred the reel-turned-real-life couple, also marked the first project for the pair onscreen together.

Last year, on its first anniversary, the Student of the Year star commented how he met Kiara. The couple went on to conduct an Instagram session to interact with fans. In the said session, the duo recalled the moment when they met each other for the first time.

During the chat, Sidharth and Kiara recalled how they first met at a party to which they were invited by filmmaker Karan five years ago. Sidharth told Kiara about Shershaah at the party, and later played B Praak’s song Mann Bharya for her, which was later included in the film. Kiara was finalised to play Dimple Cheema in Shershaah much later and had not even informed Sidharth (though he already knew) when she went for the script reading.

The duo also recalled some of the fun memories they shared while filming Shershaah. Reminiscing a scene from the biopic, in which Sidharth Malhotra’s Vikram Batra proposes to his girlfriend Dimple, had to be reshot in Chandigarh because of bad lighting. Sidharth shared that while Kiara was on a strict diet at the time, he convinced her to try a lot of delicacies. He said, “I have brought some amazing flavours to your life and changed your palate,” and she replied, “My entire palate has changed since the shoot, thanks to you.”

Recalling a road trip they had taken to Vikram Batra’s home town Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, in the early days of their meeting, Sidharth Malhotra said, “We went to a monastery in Palampur soon after we met. I forced her to cheat on her diet at a Dhaba where I was gobbling food that contained a lot of ghee and oil.”

Kiara recalled that it was a six-hour drive to the monastery, at which point Sidharth sweetly said to her, “Maybe I didn’t mind the drive because you were there.” As Kiara argued that there was nothing like that at that point, Sidharth insisted that he kept the feelings inside him. At one point, Kiara said, “Shershaah taught me a lot of things (including riding a scooty and Punjabi language). It was a very special film.”
