FC personnel move PHC for permanent appointment

Court seeks replies from relevant parties in plea filed by 66 members of the force

PESHAWAR:

A two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sought relevant responses from the parties on the writ filed against the non-permanent appointment of 66 personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

A two-member bench consisting of Justice Roohul Amin and Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan heard the writ filed by 66 petitioners, including Zafar Ali.

The commandant of FC, and federal and provincial governments, have been made parties in the application.

During the preliminary hearing, Arbab Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Sohail Khan Mehsud appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioners, while Deputy Attorney General Sanaullah and Advocate Farmanullah appeared in the court.

The petitioners’ lawyers told the court that the petitioners were recruited in the FC in the 80s and had medicals and were transferred every year while their salaries were also increased but the petitioners had not been made permanent yet.

The lawyers requested the court to issue orders to make the petitioners permanent employees.

The court adjourned further hearing on the application till February 15 and issued orders to the lawyers of the parties to submit a written reply and record.
