Art show, walk in university mark solidarity day

The Faisalabad Arts Council (FAC) organised a painting exhibition to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Sunday.

Divisional Commissioner Silwat Saeed inaugurated the exhibition that depicted the cruelty and barbarism of Indian forces in the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

She said on the occasion that the Kashmiri people had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for their freedom and their blood would surely bring about a revolution.

Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh, FAC Director Zahid Iqbal and District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Iftikhar Ahmad were also present.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) also displayed banners at green belts, parks and roads of the city to mark the day.

On the occasion, PHA Director General Rae Naeem Ullah Bhatti said Kashmiris had rendered sacrifices for their legitimate right to self-determination and blood of the martyrs would bring about a revolution in the occupied valley.

He condemned Indian aggression in the IIOJK and appealed to the United Nations and other international organisations to play an effective role an early resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile, the Senior Tutor Office of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) organised a walk to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

Senior Tutor Dr Shoukat Ali led the walk which commenced from the Admin Block and concluded at the University Clock Tower.

A large number of university students and faculty members holding banners and placards participated in the walk and chanted slogans against Indian aggression.

Addressing the participants, the speakers declared that Kashmir was an integral part of Pakistan.
