Former federal interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad was re-examined upon his complaint of being unwell after spending a day in Rawalpindi’s Central Jail Adiala.
Sources said the medical officer of the prison conducted the medical examination of the former interior minister during which his body temperature, blood pressure and other medical tests turned out to be normal.
The AML chief was shifted to Adiala Jail on a 10-day judicial remand by a local court in Islamabad on Saturday after being remanded to Kohsar police for two days.
According to sources, the former interior minister is lodged in the high-security barracks of the Central Jail Adiala.
The sources said that Rashid complained of being sick at which the prison administration got his physical examination conducted through the prison’s medical officer.
The medical officer took the readings of the temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate of the AML chief. In the report, Rashid’s body temperature was stated to be 99 degrees Fahrenheit. Similarly, his other tests turned out to be normal.
The jail’s medical officer, however, prescribed fever-relieving medication to the former interior minister.
