Yumna Zaidi got all emotional after the last episode of her drama Bakhtawar aired on Sunday. As the journey of her brave character came to an end, Zaidi penned a gratitude note for all those who helped her “unconventional” drama rake in views even without the typical soap opera romance, family drama or fancy houses.

Zaidi, sharing unseen pictures and videos of her from the sets of Bakhtawar, took to Instagram and wrote, “To me, Bakhtawar has been the strongest tree, the one standing tall all alone,  despite the fact that the project had to overcome many breaks and many stop signs. It still maintained its viewership, despite any fancy setups, romantic tracks and typical family politics. It still stood out.”

She continued to thank her viewers for all the feedback they gave about this very “special” project. “Thanks to all of you for watching it, appreciating it, criticising it and bearing me in that wig which is still so beloved to me,” she wrote with a heart emoji for her look. She also thanked the makers for “taking a big risk” with this production and the director Shahid Shafaat for making “this tough-est journey a little easy” for her.

Concluding, she offered her love to the assistant director Hasnain Khan, and the whole cast and crew for their “endless hard work” in finishing this “huge giant” project and time so well. Written by Nadia Ahmad, Bakhtawar also stars Zaviyar Ejaz, Huma Nawab, Sunil Shanker, Noreen Gulwani, and Ali Wasi Kazmi in titular roles.
