Pakistan youth festival 2023 kicks off with a bang

Anwar Maqsood urges to work hard for the development of Pakistan

Pakistan Youth Festival 2023 was opened with a colourful ceremony at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi.

The festival was inaugurated by the well-known intellectual and writer Anwar Maqsood while ACP President Muhammad Ahmad Shah and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi Khalid Iraqi also accompanied him.

Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Maqsood said that the youth are the future of this nation and they must work hard to reach their destination.

Maqsood urged the students to work hard for the country's development. He motivated them that only they can change the country for better.

Addressing the opening ceremony, ACP president Ahmad Shah said that due to Covid, the festival could not be held for the last five years.

"The festival has been organised after five years and we are delighted to see that over 30,000 students have registered themselves in this event", he said.

University of Karachi VC Khalid Iraqi expressed his gratitude to ACP for inviting him to the festival. Khalil Iraqi said that Ahmed Shah and Huma Mir and many other notable personalities have passed out from University of Karachi and the varsity is proud of them.

He said Anwar Maqsood is one of the great names of Pakistan.

"I have been reading Anwar Maqsood since I was studying in matriculation", he said.

Meanwhile, at the opening day of the ongoing Pakistan Youth Festival, auditions of four different categories were held in which thousands of male and female students participated, whereas the auditions of the remaining six categories will continue till 28 January.

The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on January 29. On the occasion, famous singers Asim Azhar, Kashmir Band, Jambrooz, Mustafa Baloch stole the attention of the participants with their performances.
