Lawyer Misbehaves In Court: Judge suspends hearing for 3 hours

LAHORE: Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq of the Lahore High Court on Thursday suspended work for three hours after a lawyer misbehaved with him during a hearing. The judge was hearing a bail petition by a murder accused, Shakeel. The prosecution lawyer, Advocate Liaqat Sindhu, opposed grant of bail and started shouting. He demanded that the judge cancel the bail. Justice Haq told the lawyer that once a court had issued an order, it could not be withdrawn. He told the lawyer to adopt due legal course and appeal in court if he had any grievance. The lawyer, however, continued to shout and criticise the judges. Upon this, Justice Haq suspended the proceedings and went to his retiring room. Later, Punjab Bar Council member Rai Bashir and some senior lawyers met the judge in his retiring room and apologised on behalf of the lawyer.
