Microsoft has announced that it would stop issuing Windows 10 Home, Pro, and Workstation licenses on its website after January.

Although the licensing service will be stopped, users of Windows 10 will still receive security updates protecting PCs from viruses and malware until October 14, 2025.

The announcement is for the direct purchase of licenses from the Microsoft website for consumers. The website has been selling the licenses at a price of $139 price for Windows 10 Home and $199 for Windows 10 Pro.

Moving forward, the licenses will now be available for purchase from third-party retailers, and OEM copies will be available on Amazon.

The move comes as a push to ensure more users opt for the latest operating system.
