KU welcomes newcomers in traditional fashion

KARACHI:

The Vice Chancellor of Karachi University Dr Khalid Iraqi has said that the University of Karachi is Mini Pakistan where students of all four provinces are studying.

He expressed these views at the annual induction ceremony of freshmen, Youme Jamia or the University Day.

VC, faculty and alumni welcome the newly enrolled students at the Silver Jubilee Gate and then march to the Administration Block with a large number of Hafiz reciting the verses of Holy Quran.

Iraqi, Unicarians President Prof Ejaz Farooqui, teachers and hundreds of students participated in the walk. A grand ceremony was organised in the parking lot of the administration block.

The advisor for student affairs, Karachi University Dr Syed Asim Ali was the moderator in the ceremony who briefed the audience about the history of the Karachi University.

Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi President Ahmed Shah said that in current era, latest technology make possible for access for everything. It depend on you that how you utilize it. There should not be restriction on questioning from the students because asking questions from teachers is not misbehavior; rather it is a source of more learning.

Prof Faroqqi said that standard of universities can be check through its PHD's and research papers and research papers which published all over the world through University of Karachi are more than the research papers of all other universities of Pakistan. You are lucky that you entered in the University of Karachi under the recitation of Holy Quran.
