SARGODHA:

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sargodha Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir directed the relevant authorities, including assistant commissioners (ACs), to take strict action against hoarders and profiteers.

A spokesman for the district administration said a meeting was chaired by the DC on Tuesday to review the performance of price control magistrates and the demand and supply of flour in the district.

The DC said no one would be allowed to cheat the public and strict action would be taken against profiteering and artificial shortages of flour in the market.

DC Nasir also urged the public to check the prices of edibles and report profiteering or hoarding to the authorities.

He added that strict action would be taken against officers who failed to address public complaints.

The meeting was informed that the records of mills were being properly maintained and revenue field staff and price control magistrates were deployed to supervise the wheat grinding process and the delivery of wheat bags to the market.

The DC was briefed that ACs were carrying out price-checking in different areas and fines were being imposed on shopkeepers over not displaying price lists.
