Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday inaugurated the construction and expansion projects of the Saggian and Sharaqpur roads in addition to laying the foundation stone of a multi-level flyover in Shahdara.
He asserted on the occasion that the PTI would sweep the next elections, while the Sharif family was distressed and uncertain about its course of action.
He regretted that the federal government had not yet been able to provide free fertilisers and seeds to the flood victims in Punjab.
The chief minister said his government had worked for the common people and its countless projects were conspicuous in the province.
This government had started providing free solar pumps in Lahore and an underground train would also be run from Data Darbar to the airport, he announced. The best equipment is being provided to treat cancer in every division through the health card.
He maintained that as soon as funds became available, his government had used them for the people.
The CM said the Shahadara flyover and Saggian road projects would benefit the people daily. Development projects worth Rs20 billion had been started by the government in Lahore, he said, adding that PTI leaders Mian Aslam Iqbal and Hammad Azhar had strived for the projects.
The construction and expansion of Saggian road and Sharaqpur road cost Rs4.51 billion. Four roads have been constructed, repaired and rehabilitated simultaneously along with the project.
A road has been constructed from Ravi Bridge to Phool Mandi Chowk and further till the Lahore-Sheikhupura road. Roads have also been constructed from Phool Mandi Chowk to Faizpur Interchange and Begum Kot. As per an official statement, the completion of the project will expand and ease travel on the city’s entry and exit routes.
