KARACHI:

The General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PMLF) and the General Secretary of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Sardar Abdul Raheem, rejected the local government election results.

In his statement, he alleged that in the second phase of the local body elections in Sindh, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) maintained its tradition of rigging elections. With the connivance of the police, the local administration and the Election Commission, the Pakistan People’s Party rigged the election records to get the desired results by harassing the opposition voters. Sardar Abdul Raheem claimed, “We condemn the rigging of the elections. People seized the ballot boxes the night before the election, which is proof of election rigging.

Sardar Abdul Rahim has alleged that in Badin, PPP MPA Taj Malah, along with his armed guards, entered the polling stations and tortured GDA agents and voters. He further claimed that Zardari’s party also attacked voters in GDA in Matyari, Saeedabad, and other areas as the administration and the police remained silent spectators on such incidents.

He said the PPP filled the ballot boxes the night before the elections to gain control over Karachi and Hyderabad.
