KARACHI:

The additional aistrict and sessions judge East has put the SSP Complaint Cell and the SHO Eidgah police station on notice on a petition filed by a widower against doctors blaming the death of his wife on their alleged carelessness.

Appearing before the judge in the Karachi City Court on Saturday, the petitioner stated, “My wife had been suffering from a renal disease since 2015. She had been treated at the SIUT.

“My wife was brought to SIUT on December 27 but doctors weren’t available. She remained hospitalized for two days, where her condition worsened due to lack of care.

“On December 29, the doctors at SIUT advised transferring my wife to the NICVD in a late-night phone call. Dr. Sadia was working at the NICVD at the time. My wife died due to the negligence of the doctors.”

The court issued notices to the SSP Complaint Cell and SHO Eidgah police station.
