Poor version of ‘Mission Impossible': ‘Pathaan’ trailer trolled for poor VFX, cringe dialogues

The action-thriller, due to release on January 25, stars Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone

Until now, only the songs from Pathaan were subject to hefty trolling for their “obscene” wardrobe and bad choreography but now, after the trailer was released, social media is outraged at how the action thriller looks like a nationalistic project with bad VFX and poor dialogues.

People had expectations from Shah Rukh Khan and they are frankly disappointed. For a movie that marks the King of Bollywood’s comeback, it is shocking to see that people are relying on “Salman Khan’s cameo and Deepika Padukone’s “lack of clothes” for its success.

Users commented on the action sequences and felt that the makers created an ensemble of scenes from successful Hollywood movies like Fast and Furious, Captain America and Mission Impossible.

Good lord, the trailer for Pathaan is so bad. 😂

Black Widow meets James Bond meets Winter Soldier. Even the opening action sequence is copied directly from Captain America: The Winter Soldier which was released in 2014.

Some users even compared the shots from the trailer to Shaan Shahid’s War to prove that Pathaan might be a blatant copy of the 2013 Pakistani film.

“Every damn thing about the Pathaan trailer is cringeworthy bad and already done by the Race/Tiger Zinda Hai franchises,” wrote a user, adding that their friends will probably “peer pressure” them into watching the film for the sake of Shah Rukh.

A fan was quite excited to go to the movies after three whole years but alas, the trailer failed their expectations. “I have not been to a movie theatre since Jan 2020 and I was really looking forward to watching Pathaan but this trailer is so bad. Why did I keep expectations in the first place?”

A tweep listed how many Hollywood movie scenes they could spot in the trailer alone. “I can tell this movie has copied fight scenes from Mission Impossible, Captain America Winter Soldier, etc. Also, the bad guy is a total rip-off from Fast and the Furious. Basically, Pathaan is a very poor version of an Indian Mission Impossible.”

There are a whole lot of tweets on how bad the VFX is in the movie. A user even went on to say that Race 3’s VFX was better than Pathaan’s and that should say something.
